This is how boxing helps Parkinson’s patients, Anne said. Parkinson’s makes everything smaller: posture, range of motion, handwriting, and the voice become really quiet, she said. Boxing require the person to use larger motions, she added.
“We fix the posture and make them stand up taller,” Anne said. “We make big motions; it helps out with balance. Boxing uses a lot of core strength. If you’re throwing a punch correctly, you’re using your whole body, not just your arms.”
